The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) was established in July 2004 by the enactment of the Telecommunications Act 2001 Amended by 17 of 2004 as the independent regulatory body responsible for the transformation of the telecommunications sector from a virtual monopoly to a competitive environment. TATT is run by a Board consisting of a Chairman, a Deputy Chairman and nine other members as appointed by the President. The Board oversees the activities and appoints a Chief Executive Officer who manages TATT&#039;s affairs subject to the directions of the Board.

The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) maintains a Tobago Office to ensure that its services, regulatory functions, and public engagement extend equitably across both islands. The office serves as a vital access point for consumers, stakeholders, and service providers in Tobago. Key functions include: Consumer Affairs Support -receiving, recording, and facilitating the resolution of consumer complaints related to telecommunications and broadcasting services. Public Engagement - hosting outreach programmes, consultations, and information sessions to raise awareness of consumers rights and responsibilities under the Telecommunications Act. Regulatory Presence - supporting compliance monitoring, licensee interactions, and providing information on TATTs regulatory frameworks and procedures. Convenience and Accessibility Offering Tobago-based residents direct access to TATTs services without the need to travel to Trinidad.
