The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is primarily responsible for the external security including the Airspace and Territorial Waters of Trinidad and Tobago; Global Security Issues; Regional Security Coordination; Countertrafficking and Trinidad Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) which consists of the following:
a) the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment
b) the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard;
c) the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard;
d) the Trinidad and Tobago Volunteer Defence Force; and
e) the Defence Force Headquarters.
